Ciao Firenze!
Il Semestre a Firenze è finito e gli studenti della James Madison University lasciano con un po’ di tristezza la città e le persone che hanno incontrato durante la loro esperienza di studio.

The semester in Florence is finished and the students from James Madison University who were learning Italian are sad to leave the city and the people they’ve got to know during their semester abroad. We say goodbye to them too. Bye bye, come back soon, we’re looking forward to seeing you again!
Paige (Intermediate), Rachel e Bonnie (Beginners):
Il nostro tempo a Firenze è stato troppo corto! Durante i mesi, i nostri genitori e i nostri amici ci hanno visitato. Insieme, abbiamo visto molte chiese, le piazze, e molti, molti musei. Anche, abbiamo fatto molte spese, ci mancheranno molto i vestiti! Ci mancherà la nostra casa vicino a Santo Spirito, i nostri compagni, e la nostra mamma - Mama Lo. Lei è una cuoca molto brava, ci mancherà il cibo, specialmente la parmigiana di melanzane! Normalmente dopo la cena andiamo giù in strada e compriamo gelato, negli Stati Uniti c’è solo ice cream, ma no, non va bene in confronto al gelato. Fra otto giorni Paige e Rachel tornano a casa, ma Bonnie è fortunata, lei sta in Italia e farà la bambinaia per tre mesi! Sarà triste partire, ma sarà molto bello rivedere nostra famiglia e i nostri animali! Un giorno, vogliamo tornare a Firenze.
Caroline (Beginner):
Durante il mio tempo in Italia, ho imparato molto. Questa è stata un'esperienza per me per crescere. Le persone e la cultura di Italia mi hanno dato nuove prospettive. Mi piace vedere dei nuovi luoghi e viaggiare. Le classi erano meravigliose. Il cibo è molto fresco. Mi mancherà molto. Spero di ritornare un giorno presto. L’arte e la storia sono impareggiabili Penso che sono più paziente e spensierata dopo il mio tempo qui. Penso che tutti dovrebbero avere quest'opportunità.Henry (Beginner):
Ah, Firenze… Un paragrafo solo non può descrive il mio tempo qui in questa bella città. Ci sono state molte cose interessanti qui e l’Italia ha cambiato la mia vita per il meglio. Mi sono piaciuti il cibo, la cultura, vagare attraverso le strade della città, e le persone belle. Sì, ci sono state molte cose materiali che mi sono piaciute, come i gelati, i souvenirs per la mia famiglia, e altri segni d’affetto, ma la cosa che io porterò da Firenze è l’esperienza che si può ottenere stando in un posto così bello e indimenticabile. Mi mancheranno i ponti; mi mancherà stare seduto nei bar tranquilli (e qualche volta le discoteche rumorose); mi mancheranno anche i piccioni troppo orgogliosi e i turisti orientali (chi l’avrebbe mai detto?)! Nonostante io parta così presto e nonostante non so se tornerò, io so che avrò sempre un ricordo indelebile della città e l’Italia nel mio cuore. E’ sdolcinato, lo so, ma qualcuno che è stato qui per tre mesi ti dirà la stessa cosa. Ciao, Firenze. Arrivederci! Grazie per avermi dato il tempo della mia vita!
Colin (Beginner):
Ci sono un sacco di cose che mi mancheranno dopo aver studiato a Firenze per un intero semestre. Soprattutto mi mancherà la mia famiglia italiana e tutti gli amici che ho fatto qui. Anche mi mancheranno tutti gli alimenti meravigliosi dei cuochi italiani, sia nei ristoranti che in casa. La cucina della mia mamma italiana era la migliore ma so che non poteva durare per sempre. E 'stata una splendida esperienza e qualcosa che non avrei mai creduto possibile. Ma al tempo stesso che non avrei potuto apprezzare di più. E 'quello che in America tutti chiamano un’ 'arma a doppio taglio' sarò felice di tornare a casa, ma sarò molto triste di lasciare l'Italia.
Nick (Lower Intermediate):
Il mio tempo in Italia era eccellente. Ho fatto molte cose divertenti. Mentre ero in Italia, ho viaggiato molto. In Italia, sono andato a Siena, Venezia, Assisi, Roma, Pompei, e Sorrento. Il mio posto preferito in Italia era Roma. Roma era grande ma bella. C’era molto da vedere. Il Colosseo era favoloso. Era la mia cosa preferita da vedere. Gli altri posti dove sono andato erano all’estero. Ho visitato Barcellona, Londra, Amsterdam, Interlaken, Budapest, Bucharest, e Constanta. I miei posti preferito erano Londra e Budapest. C’era molto da vedere a Londra e Budapest era molto differente. Anche, il cibo a Budapest era molto buono e servivano delle grandi porzioni. Anche, ho amato vivere a Firenze. Era una città di misura perfetta. Non troppo grande e non troppo piccola. Mi è piaciuto vivere con una famiglia. La mia mamma ha cucinato una buona cena tutte le sere. Mi mancherà il suo cibo molto. Anche, mi è piaciuto il posto dove siamo andati a scuola. Infine, mi mancherà la mia famiglia italiana e anche mi mancherà la mia insegnante Susanna.

Ritorno negli Stati Uniti fra 20 giorni e mi mancherà molto l’Italia. Mi mancheranno il Paese, la gente, il cibo, la mia famiglia qui, e la vita in Europa. Mi mancherà molto questa città anche. Mi mancherà il prosciutto crudo, i ravioli alla Bolognese, i gelati, la pizza, la frutta e le verdure fresche, e il cibo in generale. Vorrei ritornare a Firenze presto, ma non so se sarà possible. Non sono potuto andare a Milano o Bologna, due città che vorrei vedere. La vita è migliore qui che negli Stati Uniti e la preferisco. Mi mancherai, Firenze!
Mike (Beginner):
Ci sono così tante cose che mi mancheranno di Firenze quando devo partire per andare a casa negli Stati Uniti. Mi mancherà il bel tempo e tutte le architetture sorprendenti, la vista del duomo di tutti i giorni è come un sogno che si avvera. Mi manca anche il cibo è così buono qui e la cucina italiana in America è terribile in confronto, la mia padrona di casa Sonia fa anche le migliori cene che io abbia mai avuto nella mia vita. E’ una signora fantastica e io sono felice di tornare a Firenze e venire a trovarla il più presto possibile.

Mi manca anche il cibo è così buono qui e la cucina italiana in America è terribile in confronto, la mia padrona di casa Sonia fa anche le migliori cene che io abbia mai avuto nella mia vita. E’ una signora fantastica e io sono felice di tornare a Firenze e venire a trovarla il più presto possibile.

Paige (Intermediate), Rachel e Bonnie (Beginners):
Our time in Florence was too short! During the months, our parents and our friends visited. Together, we saw many churches, squares, and many many museums. Also, we went shopping a lot, we will miss the clothes so much! we will miss our house near Santo Spirito, our roommates, and our mom- Mama Lo. She is a very good cook, we will miss the food especially the eggplant parm! Normally after dinner we go down the street and buy gelato, in the United States there is only ice cream, but its not good compared to gelato. IN eight days, Paige and Rachel return to their house, but Bonnie is lucky, she stats in Italy to be a nanny for three months! It will be sad to leave, but it will be good to see our family and our pets! one day, we want to return to Florence.
Caroline (Beginner):
During my time in Italy, I have learned a lot. It has been an experience for me to grow. The people and the culture of Italy have given me a new perspective. I like to see new places and travel. The classes were wonderful. The food is very fresh. I will miss it a lot. I hope to return one day soon. The art and history cannot be beat. I think I am more patient and carefree from my time here. I think everyone should have this opportunity.
Henry (Beginner):
Ah, Florence... A paragraph alone cannot describe my time here in this beautiful city.
There were many interesting things here and Italy changed my life for the better. I liked the food, culture, wandering through the streets, and the beautiful people. Yes, there were many material things that I liked, such as ice cream, souvenirs for my family, and other tokens of affectionate, but what I can from Florence is the experience that you can get to be in one place so beautiful and memorable. I will miss the bridges, I will sit quiet bars (and Sometimes noisy discos) and I also miss the too proud pigeons and Asian tourists (who would have guessed?)! Despite leaving early, and despite not knowing if he returns, I know I will always have a pledge of the city and Italy in my heart. And 'juicy, I know, but someone who has been here for three months will tell you the same thing. Ciao, Florence. Goodbye! Thanks for giving me the time of my life!
Colin (Beginner):
There are a lot of things that I will miss from studying in Florence for a whole semester. Most importantly I will miss my Italian family and all of the friends that I have made here. Also I will definitely miss all of the wonderful foods that the Italian’s cook both in the restaurants and at home. My Italian mom's cooking was the best but I know that it could not last forever. It has been a wonderful experience and one that I never would have thought possible. But at the same time one that I could not have appreciated more than I do. It is what we in America call the 'double edged sword' I will be happy to go home but I will be very sad to leave Italy.
Nick (Lower Intermediate):
My time in Italy was excellent. I did a lot of cool things. While in Italy, I traveled a lot. In Italy, I went to Siena, Venice, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii, and Sorrento. My favorite place in Italy was Rome. Rome was big but beautiful. There was a lot to see. The coliseum was fabulous. It was my favorite thing to see. The other places I went to were outside of Italy. There are so many things I will miss about Florence when I to leave to go home to the United States. I will miss the weather and all of the amazing architecture, also being able to see the Duomo every day is like a dream come true. I will also miss the food because it is so good here and all the Italian food in America is terrible in comparison, my house mother Sonia also makes the best dinners I have ever had in my life. She is an amazing woman and I am looking forward to coming back to Florence to visit her as soon as possible.
